The Valley Of Fear - Cover synopsis

John Douglas, an American who struck Lucky prospecting for gold in California, is found murdered in the study of Birlstone Manor, his face blown away by a shotgun blast.

Scotland yard are forced to call in the famous dective Sherlock Holmes and his able assistant Dr. Watson to help

Holmes examines the body, finds a mysterious symbol branded on the dead man's arm and then inspects the house and questions all the occupants, embarking on what will prove to be one of his most mysterious adventures, as he follows a trail of cleverly disguised cryptic clues that all point to the fact that Mr Douglas was living in mortal terror of deadly retribution - from the Vally Of Fear!

The Sign Of Four - Cover synopsis

Bartholomew Sholto is working in his laboratory when a pigmy-like native fires a poison dart with a blowpipe into the back of his neck, killing him instantly.

A one-legged accomplace joins the native by climbing up through the window and places a note on the dead body that reads: 'The Sign Of Four.'

So begins on of Sherlock Holmes most exciting adventures, as a Miss Morston, who is looking for her missing father, draws him deeper into the mystery.

Holmes attempts to discover the meaning of those four cryptic words, with the help of his superior brain, his amazing talent for disguise, the gang of street urchins he employs called the Baker Street Irregulars, and his friend his chronicler Dr. Watson.

The Baskerville Curse - Cover synopsis

A Study In Scarlet - Cover synopsis

The body of Enoch J. Drebberof Cleveland, Ohio is found in a house in Brixton, London and the only clues: a woman's wedding ring, the word 'Rache' scratched on the wall and an envelope addressed to Joseph Stangerson containing a timetable of the Atlantic Steamship Company.

Then Stangerson is found dead in a hotel room with a telegram saying 'J.H. is in Europe', two pills - one strychnine, the other aspirin - and, once again, the word 'Rache' scrawled on the wall.

Elements that make up an intriguing mystery Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard cannot hope to tackle alone and a puzzle guaranteed to appeal to the detective instincts of Sherlock Holmes accompanied by his stalwart companion Dr. Watson!
